Performers from 23 countries sing soothing lullabies that bring serenity and contentedness, reminding us of those intimate moments of childhood slumber. The recording of these songs and their accompanying descriptions preserve this cultural heritage for future generations. The cultural significance, history and form of lullabies in each country are explained with lyrics and brief interpretations of the words. The collection of audio files and video recordings, along with introductions and transcripts, take us on a journey to explore the lullabies of the United Arab Emirates, Albania, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, the Indian Ocean, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, Senegal, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Yemen.
