'Treasures of the World's Cultures' accompanied the 2012 exhibition in Abu Dhabi by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the British Museum. Through more than 250 objects, we are guided through the cultural achievements of two million years of humanity, through Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, the Americas, Oceania and the Modern World. The artefacts were loaned from the Al Ain Museum, Sharjah Archaeology Museum, the British Museum and from His Excellency Abdulrahem Al Sayed Al Hashemi, an adviser to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founding Father of the UAE. They include canopic jars from Egypt, Colombian gold masks and luxury wares from Renaissance Europe. The book consists of an essay by exhibition curator Brendan Moore, of the British Museum.
