Cultural Foundation - Artists In Residence

The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi works to provide ideal environments and resources in which to nurture artistic talent. The Artists in Residence programme is an initiative which activates the role of the Cultural Foundation as a stimulator of creativity, a base from which artists can develop their work and share it with the world. The programme aspires to support artistic practices and the self-expression of the Abu Dhabi community, encompassing diversity. This publication presents the 2019 artists and their works, and the role of the programme as a vehicle of 'work in progress'. The book has an introductory essay by art critic Melissa Gronlund and also features biographies and statements by the four artists in the programme: Ahmed Saeed Al Areef Al Dhaheri, Ayesha Hadhir, Saoud Al Dhaheri and Zayed Temash.
